Days 1-3: Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina – City Where East Meets West
Highlights:Arrive in Sarajevo, the “Jerusalem of Europe.” Visit the Latin Bridge (site of the event that triggered World War I), Coppersmiths’ Street in the Baščaršija Old Town, and the Sarajevo War Tunnel Museum.
Days 4-5: Mostar, Bosnia & Herzegovina
Transportation:Travel to Mostar by scenic train or private car.
Highlights:Visit the Old Bridge of Mostar, rebuilt after the war and symbolizing reconciliation and hope. Experience the Ottoman atmosphere in the old town.
Days 6-8: Bay of Kotor, Montenegro – The Hidden Fjord
Transportation:Cross the border into Montenegro.
Highlights:Explore the Bay of Kotor, hailed as “the southernmost fjord in the Mediterranean.” Climb the ancient city walls of Kotor for a magnificent view of red-roofed houses against the azure bay. You can take a boat trip to visit the twin islands of Perast within the bay.
Days 9-12: Dubrovnik & Split, Croatia
Transportation:Travel north along the coastline into Croatia.
Highlights:Experience the charm of Dubrovnik again, then continue to Croatia’s second-largest city, Split, to explore the subterranean halls of Diocletian’s Palace in greater depth.
